Xunantunich Ruins
Overlooking the Mopan River, and known as the Stone Maiden, Xunantunich was a major ceremonial center during the Mayan Classic Period. The most prominent temple,"El Castillo" (The Castle), stands a majestic 130 feet high.
On the way back the Cruise Ship Village, choose between a stopover at the Belize Zoo or The Old Belize Museum and time permitting a quick tour of Belize city.

Lamanai
45 minute drive North to New River, then continue your journey with a scenic boat ride along the New River and on to the Lamanai Archeological site, with sittings of Turtles, Crocodiles and Tropical Bird-life along the way.
The ancient ruins of Lamanai are not completely excavated. On one of the pyramids, you can climb to the top using a rope with very narrow, tall, steep steps leading to the top. After about a 100-foot climb you encounter a breathtaking view. Wildlife is abundant around Lamanai. You can see and hear howler monkeys nearby.
A number of carvings can be found in the Temples are of jaguars and crocodiles that inhabit the New River Lagoon area.

Altun Ha
The true ancient name is unknown and so the name "Altun Ha" is a Mayan translation of the nearby "Rockstone Pond."
Even though Altun Ha is small site compared to other ruins. Plaza A overlooks a large grassy area, surrounded on all sides by pyramids and is adjoined by Plaza B which contains the largest structure on the site, the Temple of the Masonry Altars, which rises 54 ft. above the plaza.
A trek to the top of this pyramid is rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of the site and jungle treetops. The site was the focus of an unusual sacrificial ceremony where copal (incense) and beautiful jade carvings were offered to the gods in a blazing fire.

Cave Tubing
Wade and hike up-river through through lush Jungle for 45 minutes, then back into the river and enjoy Cave Tubing for a mile and a half, making your way in and out of a 3 river-cave-system. Along the way, witness majestic stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Zip Line Canopy Tour
This Aerial Canopy Tour offers the adventurous tourists a thrilling opportunity to soar through the jungle tree-tops high above the forest floor. The Canopy Tour involves traversing from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended 80 feet above the forest floor. Tour covers eight platforms. From the last platform, you repel to the ground.

Barton Creek Cave & Belize Zoo
Glide through a remote underground water cave system in a canoes equipped with a powerful spotlights. It is believed that the Maya once used this cave for ritual ceremonies. While canoeing through Barton Creek Cave see large and colorful formations, skeletal remains and other cultural artifacts left behind by the Maya centuries ago.
Followed by lunch and a Trip to the Belize Zoo.
