Fun in the Jungle
7 Days/6 Nights

Stay at one of the best-known jungle lodges in Belize for days filled with fun and adventure. The lodge is located on the banks of the Macal River and there are plenty of on-site activities to enjoy ....

Day 1
Arrive at BZE International Airport where your guide will be waiting for you at the passenger exit area with a sign with your name on it. Transfer by road to San Ignacio, in the Cayo District. On the way, if time permits, stop at the Community Baboon Sanctuary in Burrell Boom to see Howler Monkeys in their natural habitat (we call 'em baboons here). Check in at duPlooy's Jungle Lodge and enjoy a welcome drink.

Day 2
If you are an early riser, you won't want to miss watching some of the birds who regularly visit our bird feeder. Complimentary coffee and tea are available from 6:30am. After breakfast join your guide to ride a horse through field and forest to the Maya archeological site of Xunantunich. After your guided tour of the site, enjoy lunch in the nearby Mayan village of Succotz.

Day 3
The Black Hole Drop as been called "a rush like no other". Not for the unfit, this expedition starts with a vigorous hike into the foothills of the Maya Mountains where you will rappel 300 ft down through the rainforest canopy into a sink hole.

Or choose a less strenuous hike through the jungle to enjoy
Cave tubing
, where you float through the Caves Branch river cave system with only your head lamp to lead the way; While you are there, fly through the jungle via a Zip-line Canopy Tour.

Day 4
Actun Tunichil Muknal Tour (ATM Cave)
Travel back in time and follow pathways used by the Maya to discover lost worlds that have been hidden deep within the jungle for centuries.

Trekking for 45 minutes through dense forest, fording the river 3 times just to get to Base Camp is an adventure in itself. A short swim (with life jacket & headlamp) will take you into the cave. View ancient altars, human sacrifices and the remains of pottery left behind by the Maya. This is definitely a "Once in a Lifetime Experience".

Day 5
Unguided canoe trip downstream (2-3 hours canoeing) to San Ignacio; Explore the town and have lunch in a local restaurant. Spend the rest of the day exploring duPlooy's and the Belize Botanic Gardens, hiking nearby trails, take in swimming, or tubing in the Macal River, or just relax in your hammock. After dinner enjoy a guided night-walk through the botanic gardens.

Day 6
A day of leisurely adventure (or not) is in store for you when your rental vehicle is delivered to you with picnic lunch, map and lots of advice; Now is your opportunity to explore all that Cayo has to offer on your own ....

Day 7
Today is your departure day. If you have time, you can stop at the Belize Zoo on your return to Belize City.
