All-Inclusive Cayo Family Adventure
7 Days / 6 Nights
Journey through tropical rain forests, explore ancient Maya ruins, sacred caves and underground rivers. Several hundred species of birds, unlimited opportunities to observe wildlife and lots of fun family adventures await you in the
Cayo District ....
Day 1
Arrive at Belize International Airport where your guide will be waiting for you at the passenger exit area with a sign with your name on it. Transfer by road to San Ignacio in the Cayo District with a stop at the Belize Zoo or Community Baboon Sanctuary, if your flight arrival-time permits.
Stay at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel or duPlooy's Jungle Lodge
Day2
The adventure begins with some easy canoeing down the Macal River. If you look closely you are likely to spot huge iguanas in the treetops. See who can spot the most birds! There are plenty of spots to stop and take a Refreshing Swim as you drift downstream.
Tie up your canoe in San Ignacio and meet your guide and after exploring the town a bit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, head on out to Xunantunich Archaeological Site.
Day 3
Head for the the Mountain Pine Ridge and Rio Frio Cave, which offers many nooks and crannies for safe exploration. After you have thoroughly explored the cave, have a picnic and swim in the cascading Rio On Pools.
Days 4
How exciting is it to float on an inner tube through a cave with only your headlight to show you where to go (and your guide)? That's what you'll be doing with your family today. And after cave tubing, zoom high above the canopy forest on a zip line for the thrill of your life. Zip-line canopy tours are thrilling, but safe and even Grandma will love it. (Add $60 per person for those who want to zip line).
Day 5
This is the day you get to do whatever you want. Choose from our list of tour and activity options - either a combo of 2 half day tours or one full day one.
Day 6
After breakfast, have a guided tour through Belize Botanic Gardens. Kids can have their own guide for a special kids tour on request. After a mid-morning snack, take a short horseback ride and end up at the river about a half-hour's tube drift from duPlooy's beach where your picnic lunch will be delivered to you and you can spend the afternoon swimming, tubing, canoeing and playing games on the beach.
Day 7
Departure - Transfer to the Belize International Airport, Belize City or the Marine Terminal, with a stop-over at the Belize Zoo, if your schedule permits.
