Day 1
Arrive at BZE International Airport where your guide will be waiting for you at the passenger exit area with a sign with your name on it. Transfer by road to San Ignacio, in the Cayo District, with a stop at the Belize Zoo, if your flight arrival-time permits.
- 6 Overnights - duPlooy's Jungle Lodge in the heart of the jungle, where the adventure begins. Make the Jungle Lodge your base of operations for a week as you explore the Maya World.
Day 2
Horseback Riding through fields and forest to the Mayan village of Succotz where you and your horse board a hand-cranked ferry to cross the Mopan River and continue riding about a mile up to Xunantunich, a Mayan archeological site, where you will have a guided tour of the ruins.
Afterward, have lunch in a nearby Mayan village where you can choose from a variety of local dishes before remounting for your ride back to the lodge ... or canoe down the Macal River to San Ignacio Town; Tie up your canoe and meet your guide and after exploring the town a bit, have lunch and then head on out to Xunantunich, by road.
Riding time - About 1.5 hours each way. For Canoeing - 1.5 -2.5 hours.
Day 3
ATM Cave (Actun Tunicil Muknal)
Travel back in time and follow pathways used by the Maya to discover lost worlds that have been hidden deep within the jungle for centuries.
Trekking for 45 minutes through dense forest, fording the river 3 times just to get to Base Camp is an adventure in itself. A short swim (with life jacket & headlamp) will take you into the cave. View ancient altars, human sacrifices and the remains of pottery left behind by the Maya. This is definitely a "Once in a Lifetime Experience".
Day 4
Depart from duPlooy’s Jungle Lodge at 7:30am and head to Caracol with an experienced driver/tour guide. Journey through the Mountain Pine Ridge and across the Guacamallo (gua-ka-maa-yo) River and into dense jungle before arriving at your destination. Caracol is the largest Mayan ruin in Belize and believed to be one of the largest in Central America. Stop for a swim in the Rio On Pools on the way home.
Day 5
Cave Tubing - Enter an exciting realm where rivers disappear into the Maya Underworld (Xibalba) as you float on inner tubes with only your headlamp to lead the way.
Day 6
After Breakfast cross the border into Guatemala. After the border, your first stop, about an hour later, is Yaxhá. This extensive site was the location for Survivor, Guatemala in 2005. After your tour of the ruins, another hour's drive gets you to Flores, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring the island village and surrounding area.

Day 7
After breakfast tour the lake (2-3 hours) in a motor boat "launcha" , ($25/2 Persons) before driving to Tikal, the most famous Mayan site in Central America and the only place in the world which has been designated both a Natural and Cultural Heritage Site for Humanity. After lunch enjoy a private tour of the site, lasting approximately 4 hours, before settling into your jungle accommodations.
Overnight at Tikal
In the morning visit the site again, on your own; The park is a great place for wandering around; then return to Belize after lunch.
Day 8
Spend the morning at duPlooy's, wandering through Belize Botanic Gardens and enjoying all that duPlooy's has to offer, including hiking, horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, tubing, relaxing on the beach, bird deck, or in your own hammock.
Day 9
Time to return home and think about your next trip to Belize. Transfer to BZE International Airport with a stop at the Community Baboon Sanctuary, if your flight schedule permits.

To add Lamani to the first or last day of this all-inclusive package, with overnight at Lamanai Outpost Lodge, add $225 per person.

Important - This Package begins from the time you leave the airport exit terminal to when you are ready to board again for your flight home or onward destination. And includes All costs for Transport, Accommodations, Tours/Fees; Site-Specific Guides & Equipment and ALL meals, starting with dinner on your arrival day to breakfast on your departure day. Note the order you do your activities may change depending on weather or other conditions.
A Belize Departure Tax of US $39.25 per person is not included in our package prices. Most airlines now include this cost in their ticket price. If it is not included, you will need to pay this Tax, in US$, directly to the airport authorities at Philip S. Goldson International Airport, on the date of your departure. Additionally, a US $18.75 per person border management fee is not included in the price for tours to Tikal & Yaxhá (Guatemala). You will need to pay this fee directly to the Belize border authorities.
